Brian S. Baum, Associate
Brian Baum assists individual and corporate fiduciaries with the administration of estates and trusts along with engaging in estate planning for a diverse array of clients. He is experienced with the creation, ongoing administration, and termination of numerous types of trusts. Brian also handles the administration of estates from probate through the filing of the appropriate tax returns and the distribution of assets. In this role, he reviews and prepares federal and state estate tax returns, New Jersey inheritance tax returns, estate/trust accountings, and legal agreements. With regard to estate planning, Brian considers estate and generation-skipping taxes in addition to issues arising from residency, asset structure, and family considerations, among others.
Prior to joining Brach Eichler, Brian held similar positions at New Jersey law firms where he handled trust and estate administration and planning for mid- to high-net-worth clients throughout the state. He also gained experience practicing before both the Surrogate’s Court and the Chancery Division, Probate Part of several New Jersey counties.
At law school graduation, Brian received the Henry Bowden Jr. Award in Estate Planning and Wealth Transfer which is awarded to the student with the highest GPA in estate planning and taxation courses.
