Healthcare Law Alert: Portal Access for Reporting Use of Provider Relief Funds Delayed

1/19/2021

In new guidance published on January 15, 2021, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that the operability of the Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Reporting Portal for reporting on the use of funds has been delayed. Prior to the delay,  the online portal for healthcare providers, who received one or more PRF payments exceeding $10,000 in the aggregate, to report their use of funds through December 31, 2020 was supposed to open on January 15, 2021. HHS will communicate via broadcast email to the email address that healthcare providers used during registration when the Reporting Portal is operational. Providers can also check the HHS Reporting Requirements and Auditing webpage for the latest updates about the Reporting Portal. Importantly, the new guidance did not update the reporting deadlines, which we outlined in detail in a prior Healthcare Law Alert published last week which can be found here. However, given the delay in the operability of the portal, it is possible that the deadlines will be delayed as well.
